Hike to Buttermilk Falls and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
Buttermilk Falls State Park is located in southern Ithaca, New York. It features a creek, natural pool, lake, hiking trails, and picnic tables. Take the Gorge Trail located near the north parking lot for awesome views of Buttermilk Creek. This trail is less than 1.5 miles round-trip and is one of the most popular hiking trails at the park. The longest trail in the park is Lake Treman Trail located near the southern parking lot. Many people like this lake for fishing and wildlife observation.
This state park in New York is open year-round, but camping is only available from May to October. You will find the campground near the lower end of the park, which is also situated near a wetland area with a scenic nature trail. If you need a place to get away from it all, Buttermilk Falls State Park is an excellent choice. Enjoy spending quality time here with your friends and family in upstate New York.
